2014 LIVE UNITED Food Drive
Hunger is real. The statistics are scary and steady. One in four children in Story County continues to be eligible to receive free/reduced
lunch. Once summer break starts, these children won't have access to school-provided meals. Therefore, the need for food at local food
pantries is even greater during the summer months.
You can help. United Way of Story County will hold the 6th annual LIVE
UNITED Food Drive May 12-21 this year. Area businesses, including Hunziker & Associates, will serve as drop points for the
non-perishable products. Thank you in advance for your contributions!
Last year, Story County community members helped collect nearly 8,000 pounds of food and more than $1,900, which was distributed to 13
local food pantries. The amount of food increased by about 1,000 pounds over 2012's drive. In addition, five 4-H clubs throughout the
county participated in the collection efforts, resulting in more than 1,400 pounds from those clubs collectively.
Area businesses, including Hunziker & Associates, REALTORS®, are working with United Way this month to help families in need put food
on their table. You can be a part of it too! Simply bring your food or cash donation to Hunziker & Associates or any collection site May 12-21.

Wednesday, June 4 to Sunday, June 8, and will feature new construction homes in a variety of price points and neighborhoods. Two of the
featured homes are built by HCS Builders, a sister company of Hunziker & Associates, REALTORS®.
Cost of the show is $5 and tickets will be available at First National Bank - downtown location prior to and during the show, as
well as at each home during the show. AmesHomeBuilders.com will have more information
on the homes as the show approaches.
Summer time can bring about many changes - school is out, vacations are scheduled, the volume and velocity of work may vary. All these
changes can affect the pace of daily life. For some, work slows down. For others, it may stay the same; but having the kids home can add
an extra layer of complexity. Summer seems like it should be carefree and fun, but taking advantage of everything summer has to offer takes
some advance planning.
Check-out some of these camps and activites to help you and your little one enjoy this summer.
Shred Day Success!
We're pleased to announce that the Hunziker Community Shred Day was a success! Mother Nature supplied beautiful conditions for
our Ames event and enabled us to shred and recycle several thousand pounds of paper. A big thanks goes out to all those who came to
the event and Terri from Secure Shred Solutions. The Shred truck from Secure Shred
Solutions spent time at our office in Ankeny on April 24 and in Ames on May 3.
