HCS Builder provides 3D Home Design

3D home design involves the use of home modeling programs. HCS has the ability to take your designated lot and place the home within the space, according to the grading and contour of the land. The 3D design process is extremely helpful for both the designer and the client. It allows the client to make changes easily within the design, and even play around with furniture arrangement.

With 4205 Cartier, over 60 hours was spent designing the 3D model. It has all the bells and whistles. The video shows the animated version of the 3D design. This home integrated major trends happening in new construction homes. These items include: a master suite, freestanding soak tub, walk-in hidden pantry, basement bar, and large windows. 4205 Cartier is a featured home in the 2017 Ames Parade of Homes.

Homestead and/or Military Credits - Have you signed up?

Every little bit of savings helps - make sure you are signed up for these tax credits.

Homestead Credit

The Homestead Credit is a tax credit funded by the State of Iowa for qualifying homeowners, and is generally based on the first $4,850 of Net Taxable Value. First enacted in April of 1937, the purpose was two fold: 1st- to alleviate some tax burden on homeowners during the Depression; 2nd- to encourage ownership in the State.

If you bought a home this year, make sure that you have signed up for the credit by July 1. The application can be found at Homestead Form Request. You can also Apply Online. To use the Beacon site, fill out your property information in the search page and locate your property. The link to the Homestead Credit form is towards the bottom of the page. The credit can only be claimed for a primary residence.

Military Tax Credit

Veterans who served in active duty during certain periods of time and who were honorably discharged are eligible to receive a Military Exemption on their property taxes. Pursuant to Iowa law, the Military Exemption value is determined by the dates the veteran served in active duty. Values for most veterans are $1,852, or $3,704 in the case of a husband and wife who both qualify. The value for World War I veterans is $2,778. You can Apply Online. Fill out your property information in the search page and locate your property. The link to the Military Tax exemption form is towards the bottom of the page.
